Iron Inserts®, the remarkable new product for exterior doors! Now you can add security and beauty to fiberglass and steel doors with handcrafted decorative wrought iron and glass inserts. The Inserts are designed to be installed into smooth or wood-grained fiberglass doors or steel doors, or any 13/4˝ thick door with the correct “cut out” opening.

These functional hand-made wrought iron and steel inserts are available installed into fiberglass entry doors, or they are available separately, as “inserts only” for retrofit installations into existing installed fiberglass and steel doors. Uniquely different from common “grill between the glass” metal door inserts, Iron Inserts use real wrought iron decorative grilles mounted to the exterior side of the door. Developed by GlassCraft Door Company, this product has multiple patents
pending.

Fiberglass Doors with Iron Inserts
The Fiberglass doors are available in a smooth or a wood-grained texture. The smooth Fiberglass doors are available unfinished or finished to match the different wrought iron colors. The wood-grained fiberglass doors are available unfinished only.

Two different sizes of doors are available?—80” nominal (6’8”) and 96” nominal (8’0”). Both door textures are available in both sizes.

An Iron Insert is mounted in a fiberglass or steel door using the same “cut out” size and shape, and in a similar manner as a common decorative glass insert. Installation uses machine screws mounted from the “inside” of the door. Adhesive butyl gaskets are mounted on each unit to ensure a watertight seal between the Iron Insert and the door, and between the glass panel and the Iron Insert. Please note that designs and specifications may change without notice to improve the product.

Iron Inserts: Hand-made steel and wrought iron. Thermal break included. Butyl rubber gaskets included on each side of insert to prevent water penetration.

6´8˝ Insert size is 241/2” wide by 67” high.
Cut out size: 23” wide by 651/2” high.

8´0˝ Insert size is 241/2” wide by 83” high.
Cut out size: 23” wide by 811/2” high.

Inserts are designed to fit 36” (nominal) wide doors. They may be used into narrower doors, but available installation space for hardware will be limited. Glass Panels: 5/8” (nominal) double thick insulated glass unit with butyl sealant and aluminum spacers filled with desiccant. Product is warranted against seal failure for 5 years.

Fiberglass Doors: GlassCraft’s fiberglass doors are all foam-filled for insulation. All door edges are PVC. Lock blocks on both stile edges.

Laminated core supports on all rails and stiles for strength. Bottom edge kerfed for door sweep. Both smooth doors (no texture, use for painting) and wood-grain textured doors (for staining) are available in both 6´8˝ and 8´0˝ heights.
